MINUSCA peacekeepers provide school supplies and medical aid in Central African Republic
To mark the International Day of Peace, MINUSCA peacekeeping contingents conducted community outreach and educational support initiatives in the Central African Republic.
In Obo, the Nepalese contingent organized awareness activities at Bambito School in the Haut-Mbomou region. The initiative included the distribution of school kits to 100 students, as well as sports equipment such as footballs and jerseys to encourage social cohesion through play. The school also received office supplies to assist with administrative and pedagogical functions.
In Bria, Rwandan peacekeepers from the RWABG VIII and the Rwanda Level 2+ Hospital donated scholastic materials to pupils at Lydjama Primary School. In addition to supporting students for the upcoming academic year, the Rwandan medical team provided free healthcare services to 70 local community members. Local officials and MINUSCA commanders noted that supporting primary education is a vital component of sustainable peacebuilding and community cooperation.
