Minvu warns of housing subsidy scams in O’Higgins

The Ministry of Housing and Urbanism (Minvu) in the O’Higgins Region has issued a warning to families regarding housing subsidy applications to prevent fraud and scams. Authorities emphasized that all application processes are free of charge and that no official or intermediary is authorized to request money, bank transfers, or sensitive information such as bank passwords or the ‘Clave Única’.

Currently, active programs include the 2026 National Call in Special Conditions ‘Housing Projects’ under the DS27 Materials Bank modality, as well as the Rental Subsidy for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities. Christian Villegas, the Regional Ministerial Secretary of Housing and Urbanism, urged citizens to use only official Ministry channels and to verify all information via the official website, www.minvu.cl.

Officials clarified that housing benefits cannot be purchased from third parties. For programs requiring savings, funds must remain strictly in a dedicated housing savings account; the Ministry will never request transfers to checking or personal accounts.
