Approximately 34,000 people gathered at the Poljud stadium in Split to pay their final respects to legendary Croatian singer Mišo Kovač. The event, which saw the stadium reach full capacity for the first time this season, featured tributes from various generations of fans.
During the ceremony, a vehicle carrying Kovač passed beneath the eastern, western, and northern stands while the crowd sang his song, “Samo nas nebo rastavit može.” Fellow musicians, including Mladen Grdović, Dražen Zečić, and Joško Čagalj Jole, performed his songs in his honor.
Kovač, a prominent figure in Croatian entertainment music, passed away at the age of 86 in Podstrana. His funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, at the Mirogoj cemetery in Zagreb, where he will be laid to rest near his son, Edi.
