Miodrag Linta condemns antisemitic incidents by Hajduk Split fans

Miodrag Linta, president of the Association of Serbs from the Region, has criticized the Croatian government and judiciary following antisemitic incidents involving Hajduk Split football fans. Ahead of a match against Ajax, fans reportedly used antisemitic chants and references to Auschwitz.

Linta stated that these incidents are not isolated but represent a long-term normalization of Ustaše symbols and fascist ideology within Croatian society. He accused the administration of Andrej Plenković of being responsible for this environment, noting that such behavior follows previous instances where fans used the Ustaše salute ‘Za dom spremni’.

Linta further argued that Croatia remains deeply tied to its fascist past, citing the legal status of certain historical symbols and the presence of nationalist graffiti. He called upon the European Union to fulfill its responsibility to condemn such occurrences.
