Miona Cvijović's 'San o mikrokozmi' Debuts at Tivat Music Festival
The musical‑theatrical piece "San o mikrokozmi", written, composed and staged by Miona Cvijović, premiered on 7 August at the Tivat Music Festival in the historic setting of Gornja Lastva, Montenegro. Inspired by Petar II Petrović‑Njegoš’s poem "Luča mikrokozma", the work explores human nature, inner struggle and the search for meaning, offering a personal interpretation rather than a direct rendition of the classic text.
The performance was part of the festival’s "Nasljeđe u zvuku" (Heritage in Sound) segment. Artistic director Dr. Dragana Jovanović thanked the hosts and partners, while the production featured Ansambl Boka, actors Đorđije Tatić and Nemanja Todorović, and the women’s vocal ensemble of the City Choir Jadran, under the direction of Andrea Orlando Tripović. The audience responded with enthusiasm, noting the blend of music, literature and stagecraft.
The event highlighted the continued relevance of Njegoš’s philosophical ideas and demonstrated how contemporary artistic approaches can connect cultural heritage with modern audiences.
