Miorița Ensemble wins six awards at Cântecele Oltului Festival

The Miorița Ensemble from Vaideeni has secured six awards at the ‘Cântecele Oltului’ Festival, celebrating the preservation of pastoral heritage.

Among the distinctions, Sofia Stănuș and Tudor Ciontea received first prize for the most beautiful costume. Andreea Popescu was honored with a Special Prize for representing local identity through physical beauty and knowledge of intangible cultural heritage. Medeea Vinereanu received the ‘Youth Prize’ in the vocal soloists section, while Dobre Dorin earned second prize for instrumental soloists.

The ensemble itself was recognized with a Special Prize for preserving and transmitting elements of pastoral identity. Additionally, Cristina Tuță Irimescu received the ‘Vartolomei Todeci’ Jury Prize for her involvement in promoting and transmitting pastoral heritage.
