Mirae Asset leads South Korean asset management brand rankings

Analysis of brand reputation for South Korean asset management companies for September 2026 shows Mirae Asset Global Investments ranking first, followed by Samsung Asset Management and Korea Investment Management. The total brand big data for the sector increased by 37.85% compared to August, driven largely by a 92.59% rise in brand communication metrics.

Amidst the rapid expansion of the Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) market—which saw net assets grow from 297.1 trillion won at the end of last year to 512.4 trillion won by June—Samsung Asset Management has launched an educational initiative. To address the gap between market growth and investor understanding, the company released an ETF introductory guide designed as a 'workbook' to help investors navigate complex product structures, costs, and high-risk leveraged products.

Industry experts note that while the domestic ETF market is expected to reach 1,800 trillion won by 2025, investors often struggle with the nuances of underlying assets and management fees. Samsung Asset Management recommends focusing on core portfolios and long-term strategies, such as monthly dividend or bond-type ETFs, to mitigate macro-economic uncertainty.
