Mirai guitarist Tomáš Javůrek reveals battle with malignant tumor

Tomáš Javůrek, the guitarist for the Czech band Mirai, has revealed that he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. The diagnosis led to an immediate surgery in June and subsequent chemotherapy, causing him to miss several summer concerts.

In response to his health battle, the band has released a new single titled ‘Afterlife’. While the song was recorded over a year ago, the lyrics—specifically the line ‘life, it never asks anyone’—have taken on a profound new meaning for Javůrek following his experience. The band members also shaved their heads in a show of solidarity with him. Javůrek stated that he is currently on the path to a full recovery.
