Miraikan to host live streaming event for Nobel Prize 2026 announcements

The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) will host a live streaming event titled ‘Enjoying the Nobel Prize 2026 with Science Communicators’ from October 5 to 7, 2026. The event will be broadcast daily at 17:30 via Niconico Live and YouTube Live, featuring live coverage from Sweden to coincide with the announcement of the Nobel Prize winners.

The three-day program is organized by scientific discipline:

- October 5: Physiology or Medicine, focusing on protein phase separation and cellular functions. - October 6: Physics. - October 7: Chemistry, with a theme centered on ‘Green Chemistry’ and its environmental benefits.

Science communicators will provide expert commentary to explain the research and its connection to society. Additionally, a preparatory talk titled ‘Understanding the Nobel Prize in 15 Minutes’ will be held at Miraikan on September 27, 2026, to review previous years' research and provide foundational knowledge.
