Miranda Kerr's restrictive diet draws criticism from medical experts

Medical experts are criticizing the highly restrictive dietary habits of model Miranda Kerr, which she recently detailed on the podcast ‘Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari’. Kerr’s approach, described by some as extreme biohacking, involves eliminating several major food groups, including bread, wheat, dairy, eggs, rice, and various vegetables.

Nutritionist Sophia Deahl warned that such a diet could lead to significant deficiencies in proteins, fiber, calcium, iron, B vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids. Experts emphasize that for women in their forties, maintaining adequate intake of these nutrients is vital for muscle mass, bone health, and metabolism, particularly during perimenopause. Lifestyle physician Dr. Idrees Mughal also expressed criticism regarding the plan's restrictive nature.

While the diet lacks essential food groups, experts noted some positive aspects, such as the inclusion of many unprocessed, antioxidant-rich foods and vegetables. However, they cautioned that the plan is not a suitable model for the general population due to the risk of energy depletion and nutritional gaps.
