Mirassol defeats Remo 2-1 to escape Brazil Serie A relegation zone

In the 21st round of Brazil's Serie A, Mirassol secured a 2-1 win over Remo at the Maião stadium. The home side opened the scoring after a Reinaldo corner led to an own goal by Remo defender Marllon. Remo equalised through Argentine midfielder Leonel Picco, but Mirassol reclaimed the lead when João Victor headed in from another Reinaldo set piece.

The victory took Mirassol to 23 points, temporarily lifting them out of the relegation zone after three months there. Remo remains stuck in the drop zone with 21 points after the defeat.
