Mircea Marius Totolici dies hours before wedding
Mircea Marius Totolici, the 37-year-old nephew of former Romanian football coach Mircea Rednic, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. The incident occurred during the night between Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15, just hours before his religious wedding ceremony was scheduled to take place.
Medical examinations revealed that the cause of death was a severe myocardial infarction followed by cardiorespiratory arrest. The autopsy indicated that a coronary artery in the posterior region of the heart was obstructed by fatty deposits, leading to a sudden lack of blood and oxygen to the heart muscle.
Totolici had recently completed his civil marriage on August 8. He was well-known in the Sibiu football community for his support of the Voința Sibiu club, specifically regarding its youth and junior academies. The club issued a statement expressing profound sadness and honoring his contributions to their young athletes.
