Mircea Sandu to support revived Sportul Studențesc football club

Mircea Sandu, former president of the Romanian Football Federation and former player for Sportul Studențesc, has announced his intention to support the revived Sportul Studențesc football club. Sandu aims to assist the team by securing sponsors to cover organizational expenses, noting that the club is currently competing in the fifth league in Bucharest.

The new project involves several former club figures, including Paul Cazan as honorary president, Tibi Bălan as head coach, and Vladimir Niculescu as general manager. The team has already recorded two victories in its recent matches, including a 12-0 win against ACS Fulgerul.

The revival has met with controversy following comments from Vasile Șiman, the former owner of the original club, who claimed the new project has no connection to the traditional team. Sandu has called for a common solution and cooperation between parties to bring the club back to life rather than engaging in disputes.
