Mirditë killing sparks calls for police monitoring of blood feuds

Lawyer Kujtim Ibraj has called for increased police surveillance of families involved in blood feuds following the killing of 65-year-old Viktor Bardhi in Mirditë, Albania.

Ibraj noted that the Bardhi family has lost three members over the last three years, raising significant concerns regarding public safety and the potential for escalating conflict. He characterized the incident as a tragedy and highlighted that blood feuds remain a problematic phenomenon in northern regions of the country, including Mirditë, Dibër, Shkodër, and Lezhë.

Ibraj urged the State Police and judicial authorities to act swiftly to resolve the case and requested that the state take a more proactive role in monitoring families involved in such sensitive conflicts to prevent further loss of life.
