Miren Matanzas to step down as EH Bildu candidate in Santurtzi

Miren Matanzas, the current spokesperson for EH Bildu in Santurtzi, has announced that she will not lead the party's electoral list for the municipal elections in May 2027. Matanzas stated that after two legislatures, she believes it is time to step aside to allow for new leadership cycles and new people to lead the political project.

Matanzas will remain part of the Santurtzi political board and continue serving as the coalition's spokesperson until the 2027 elections. The EH Bildu political board is expected to propose a successor in the coming days, with the final decision to be made by the party's members.
