Miriam Margolyes criticizes Harry Potter salary

British actress Miriam Margolyes, known for portraying Professor Pomona Sprout in the ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise, has expressed dissatisfaction regarding her compensation and professional recognition.

In a recent interview with The Sun, the 85-year-old actress revealed she received £60,000 for her roles in ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ (2002) and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2’ (2011). She described the amount as “rubbish” and noted that while she does not begrudge others receiving higher pay, she finds the figure underwhelming.

Beyond financial concerns, Margolyes stated that she is bothered by being primarily identified with her Hogwarts character. She emphasized that she has an extensive career and has performed “better things” than the role of the Herbology professor.
