Mirko Zilahy discusses new novel inspired by Hieronymus Bosch

Author Mirko Zilahy has released a new novel, Il giardino delle ombre, inspired by an encounter with Hieronymus Bosch’s Trittico delle Delizie at the Museo del Prado in Madrid. The story begins when a restorer discovers a human body part hidden beneath the centuries-old painting.

The narrative follows police consultant Nemo Sperati and Inspector Miriam Tiberi as they investigate a series of murders in Rome, including a victim found in the Caffarella park wearing a bird mask. The plot connects these modern crimes to the mysterious and monstrous imagery found in Bosch’s work.
