Mirno morje international sailing project engages youth

Students from OŠ Marije Vere and OŠ Duplek participated in the Mirno morje (Peaceful Sea) international project, a social-pedagogical sailing initiative for youth in Europe. From September 19 to 26, 2026, participants sailed aboard the Skipper’s Girl through the Dalmatian islands, including Hvar, Brač, and Kaštela.

The program focused on fostering friendship, tolerance, and cooperation. Activities included learning sailing terminology, participating in cultural programs in Stari Grad, and attending workshops in Kaštela regarding social inclusion and challenges faced by people with special needs. The event culminated in a large regatta featuring over one hundred sailboats as a symbol of peace and mutual respect.
