Miro Žbirka's children's album Songs for Boys & Girls to be reissued on vinyl

The children's album Songs for Boys & Girls by Miro Žbirka is being reissued by Universal Music, marking its first release on vinyl. Originally recorded approximately 27 to 30 years ago, the project was created primarily for the artist's children, Linda and David.

Žbirka collaborated closely with his mother, Ruth Gale-Žbirkova, to select and refine English nursery rhymes such as ‘Old McDonald Had a Farm’ and ‘Ten Green Bottles’. While not intended as a formal educational tool, the album was later adopted by schools as a playful method for teaching English. The recording features contributions from renowned guitarist Ivan Král and includes a duet with Jana Kirschner.

A celebratory launch event for the reissue is scheduled to take place on September 16 at the Luxor Palace Bookstore in Prague. The album cover, created by photographer Rudo Prekop, features artwork produced by children at the Londýnská Primary School.
