Miro MCP server reaches 16 million calls as AI collaboration grows
Miro has reported over 16 million calls to its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server since its launch in February 2026. Usage volume has more than doubled since May, with September projections reaching 6 million calls.
The MCP server allows AI tools to connect directly to Miro boards, enabling the programmatic creation of diagrams, tables, and canvas content. This integration moves AI interactions from static chat windows into a shared, editable visual workspace.
Data indicates that Claude Desktop and Claude Code accounted for 65% of usage in August. ChatGPT is the second most used client, seeing a 71% increase in its user base between August and September. Currently, 15 different AI clients, including Microsoft Copilot, Gemini Enterprise, and Grok Build, are connected via the integration.
Usage patterns show that the platform serves as both input and output for AI agents. In August, 57% of calls were “Miro-to-code,” where agents read boards to act upon them, while 41% were “code-to-Miro,” where agents generate boards and layouts directly.
