Miroslav Nenkov criticizes low voter turnout in Bulgaria
Former Health Minister and general practitioner Dr. Miroslav Nenkov has characterized low voter turnout as a shame for all citizens, not just those who abstain. Speaking in the “Metronom” election studio on Radio Focus, Nenkov argued that voting is a vital method for citizens to influence national leadership.
Nenkov warned that refusing to vote as a form of protest fails to achieve real results and may instead increase the relative influence of organized electoral groups. He noted that major political players benefit from low participation and emphasized that every individual vote matters.
Additionally, Nenkov addressed the President's role, stating that the office is significant due to the power to appoint key officials. He also questioned recent statements from the Prime Minister regarding the continuation of murders, asking for accountability and clarification on whether such remarks serve as a signal to any part of society.
