Mirova invests €65 million in Nordic battery storage projects

Mirova, an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, has announced a €65 million equity investment in two battery energy storage systems (BESS) developed by Ingrid Capacity. These projects serve as the inaugural assets for Mirova’s Nordic Storage Platform (NSP), which focuses on developing and operating utility-scale storage across the Nordic region.

The investment covers two specific projects designed to enhance grid resilience and support renewable energy integration:

1. Pedersöre, Finland: A 45 MW / 90 MWh system that is ready to begin construction. 2. Vaggeryd, Sweden: A 100 MW / 200 MWh facility located in the SE3 electricity price area, which is expected to reach ready-to-build status by 2027.

Together, these systems will provide 145 MW of power capacity and 290 MWh of storage capacity. Ingrid Capacity will manage the technical and commercial aspects, including engineering, procurement, and optimization services.
