Tennis player Mirra Andreeva has shared reflections on her growth and experiences during the US Open. Competing in the mixed doubles tournament alongside compatriot Andrey Rublev, the 19-year-old world number 5 discussed her past admiration for her partner, noting she had a “crush” on him when she was 15 or 16 years old.

Reflecting on her professional development, Andreeva expressed that she would advise her 16-year-old self to be “a little more gentle” with herself. She noted that during her earlier appearances at the tournament, she struggled with intense self-imposed pressure and negative thoughts when her performance did not meet her expectations. Now, she aims to approach the competition with more maturity and enjoyment.
