Nineteen‑year‑old Russian Mirra Andreeva captured the women’s singles title at the 2026 French Open, defeating Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska 6‑3, 6‑2 in the final. Andreeva, the tournament’s eighth seed, had earlier overcome Ukraine’s Marta Kostjuk in the semifinals, while Chwalinska became the first qualifier to reach a Grand Slam final after a surprise run that saw her defeat Diana Schnaider and bypass several higher‑ranked players following the early exits of favorites such as Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Iga Świątek.
