Mirtha Legrand hospitalized for respiratory complications
Argentine television host Mirtha Legrand, 99, is currently hospitalized at Sanatorio Mater Dei following a respiratory relapse. This marks her second hospitalization in September, after being discharged on September 13 following a bout of bronchitis.
According to medical reports signed by Director Enrique Echagüe, Legrand is being treated for a condition compatible with pneumopathy. While her condition was initially described as delicate, recent updates indicate she is “evolving favorably as expected” and remains under strict medical observation and specific treatment.
Reports suggest that medical professionals identified a bacteria, allowing for adjustments to her antibiotic treatment. Although she has been in a therapy room to ensure rest and privacy, she has not required mechanical respiratory assistance. Her family, including granddaughter Juana Viale, has been present to support her. The medical center plans to issue a further update on Wednesday if her stability continues.
