Argentine television host Mirtha Legrand, 99, has been hospitalized at the Mater Dei Sanatorium in Buenos Aires due to a bronchial respiratory condition. The hospitalization was reported as a preventive measure to allow medical professionals to monitor her health and complete necessary diagnostic studies following a recent bout of influenza.

Legrand had previously been forced to miss recordings of her program, ‘La Noche de Mirtha,’ due to flu-like symptoms. During her absence, her granddaughter, Juana Viale, stepped in to host the show.

Official medical reports from the Sanatorium indicate that Legrand is in a common room and is in good spirits. Her daughter, Marcela Tinayre, and grandson, Nacho Viale, have both provided updates to the press, conveying reassurance that her condition is under control and that she is recovering well. The medical institution stated that a new update would be provided on Wednesday if there are no significant changes in her status.
