Mirtha Legrand discharged from hospital after respiratory illness
Argentine television host Mirtha Legrand, 99, has been discharged from the Sanatorio Mater Dei following a week-long hospitalization for bronchitis and a respiratory condition. She returned to her home on Avenida del Libertador to continue her recovery under medical supervision and rest.
Medical reports signed by Director Enrique Echagüe indicated that Legrand showed favorable evolution, including active participation in kinesiology sessions. During her stay, she was treated with antibiotics and remained in a common room, receiving visits from family and friends. A computed tomography scan revealed a 14-millimeter pulmonary nodule, identified as a previously described hamartoma, which showed no significant changes since April.
During her absence, her granddaughter, Juana Viale, stepped in to host segments of ‘La Noche de Mirtha’. The Legrand-Tinayre family issued a statement expressing profound gratitude to the medical staff at Sanatorio Mater Dei, specifically mentioning Dr. Guillermo Semeniuk and the nursing team for their professionalism and care.
