Mirtha Legrand shows favorable recovery from respiratory condition
Argentine television host Mirtha Legrand, 99, is showing favorable progress in her recovery from a respiratory condition, according to recent medical reports from Sanatorio Mater Dei. The medical director, Enrique Echagüe, confirmed that Legrand is responding well to treatment and has begun increasing her physical activity through kinesiology sessions.
Legrand was re-hospitalized on September 18 following a relapse after being treated for bronchitis earlier in the month. The current diagnosis involves a pneumopathy. While her condition is improving, doctors have decided to keep her under observation to complete her antibiotic cycle and ensure she is physically fit to resume her daily activities. No specific discharge date has been set.
In related news, actress Soledad Silveyra is also recovering at Sanatorio Otamendi following a fall that resulted in a pelvic fracture. Her family reports she is making good progress and may be discharged soon.
