Mirwaiz Umar Farooq demands probe into Saikun Khan murder in Rajasthan

Senior religious leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has called for a thorough investigation into the brutal killing of Saikun Khan in Alwar, Rajasthan. The 40-year-old resident of Barwas village was allegedly killed by being struck in the head with a stone just outside the Barodamew police station on September 24.

Khan’s family alleges that the murder was motivated by his religious identity, noting that he was wearing a skullcap and maintained a beard. His brother, Irshad Khan, expressed distress over the incident, stating that Saikun had no known enemies and questioning why police officers failed to intervene despite the attack occurring near a station.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq criticized the rising trend of communal rhetoric in political discourse, suggesting that inflammatory statements from political figures contribute to a climate of prejudice that can manifest as violence on the streets.
