Miryang: Man dies after remicon vehicle crushes him during maintenance

A man in his 60s died following a workplace accident at a waste processing company in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, on October 1.

The victim, identified as a private contractor, was performing maintenance on a remicon (ready-mixed concrete) vehicle using a hydraulic lift to raise the rear wheels. During the process, the hydraulic pressure failed, causing the vehicle to drop and crush the man's leg. Although he was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest, he was later pronounced dead.

Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, including whether proper safety measures were in place and the specific cause of the lift failure. It has been reported that the incident does not fall under the scope of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act or the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
