Mirza Catovic transfers from VfB Stuttgart to FC Barcelona

Mirza Catovic, a 19-year-old midfielder, is transferring from VfB Stuttgart to FC Barcelona. The deal is structured as an initial loan with a purchase option valued at approximately €3.5 million.

Catovic is expected to join Barça Atlètic, Barcelona’s reserve team, to gain consistent playing time. Despite being a standout talent in Stuttgart’s youth academy and appearing in Europa League squads, he did not receive playing time with the Stuttgart first team due to a strong midfield lineup.

The midfielder has represented Germany at the youth international level, including playing in the U19 European Championship final. There is also speculation regarding his potential future eligibility to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina.
