Mirza Rahmath Baig reported missing after AIMIM expulsion

Mirza Rahmath Baig, a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has reportedly gone missing in Hyderabad following his expulsion from the party. Baig was expelled on August 28 and directed to resign from his position in the Telangana Legislative Council, a request he has declined.

The expulsion follows social media allegations of sexual assault involving a minor. Baig has denied these claims, asserting that deepfake technology is being used to create fraudulent videos to defame him and extort money. He has approached the Cyber Crime police regarding these threats.

In response to Baig's removal, AIMIM has appointed Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen as the new in-charge of the Rajendranagar Assembly constituency to manage organizational activities. Meanwhile, political opponents, including the Telangana BJP, have called for a formal inquiry into the allegations.
