Mirza Redžepagić and SA Sinfonietta perform flamenco-classical concert

Guitarist Mirza Redžepagić and SA Sinfonietta performed a concert at the Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTR), blending flamenco guitar with a string quartet and classical music. The project aims to elevate the string quartet from a mere accompaniment to an equal participant, utilizing the instruments to capture the rhythmic and percussive essence of flamenco while allowing for improvisation.

The repertoire includes works by Spanish composers such as Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, and Joaquín Rodrigo, alongside compositions by renowned flamenco guitarists like Paco de Lucía and Sabicas. Redžepagić also performed original works from his album ‘Cycles’. Following performances in Srebrenica, Mostar, and Sarajevo, the project will conclude with a final performance on October 13 at the Kakanj Cultural Center.
