Mirzapur: The Movie crosses ₹100 crore at Indian box office
Mirzapur: The Movie has achieved significant box office success, crossing the ₹100 crore mark in India within its first four days. The film, which transitioned from a popular OTT franchise to the big screen, reported a worldwide gross exceeding ₹150 crore. Its opening weekend saw steady growth, with daily collections rising from ₹25.75 crore on day one to ₹36 crore on Sunday. The film features returning actors Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyenndu.
Simultaneously, the low-budget film Hanuman Ansh has emerged as a major box office surprise. Produced on a budget of approximately ₹2 crore, the film has amassed over ₹122 crore in India, marking it as a highly profitable release.
Amidst the commercial success, Mirzapur: The Movie has faced controversy regarding copyright allegations. Independent artist Rapperiya Baalam has accused the producers of using his song, Shoorveer, without permission or credit, claiming the use of a track dedicated to Maharana Pratap in a context depicting gangsters is culturally disrespectful.
