Misbah-ul-Haq appointed Sudurpaschim Royals head coach

Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been appointed as the head coach of the Sudurpaschim Royals for the upcoming third season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The franchise, which topped the league standings and reached the finals in its first two editions, is seeking its first title. The season is scheduled to run from October 26 to November 21.

In related news regarding the league, Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was denied a no-objection certificate (NOC) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the NPL. Instead, Rizwan has been directed to return to domestic cricket to play for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) in the President’s Trophy Grade-I. This decision comes amid an ongoing investigation by the PCB into Rizwan’s conduct during Pakistan’s recent tour of England.
