Misiliscemi water plant reactivation delayed by cable theft

The reactivation of the Marracco water plant in Misiliscemi has been postponed following the discovery of vandalism and theft at the Bresciana wells. Unknown individuals cut the power supply cables connecting the wells to the transformation cabin, rendering the facility inoperable.

The damage to well TR12 has caused a reduction in water availability of approximately 30 liters per second, impacting the entire supply system. This incident follows several previous technical failures and power interruptions at the Marracco station in recent months.

Local authorities and the Integrated Water Service of the Municipality of Trapani have reported that the Carabinieri are investigating the theft. Repair crews have inspected the site to identify necessary materials; if supplies are available immediately, restoration work is expected to begin as early as tomorrow.
