Misinformation: Viral video of Ceuta home invasion is actually from Argentina

A viral video circulating on social media, which claims to show immigrants attempting to invade and occupy a home inhabited by two elderly people in Ceuta, is false. The footage actually depicts a neighborhood dispute in the La Matera district of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Reverse image searches and geolocation via Google Maps confirm the incident took place in a suburb of Buenos Aires. Local Argentine news platforms, such as Solano TV, had previously reported on the event as a conflict involving local neighbors.

The misinformation has spread widely on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, often used to link migration to criminal activity following a migration crisis in Ceuta that began in late July. While the Ceuta government has acknowledged reports of irregular occupants in public housing, this specific video is unrelated to the situation in Spain.
