Misiones adopts federal accusatory system
Misiones has become the tenth province in Argentina to adopt the federal accusatory system following the implementation of the new Federal Criminal Procedural Code within the jurisdiction of the Federal Court of Appeals of Posadas.
During the inauguration of Vivian Andrea Barbosa as the coordinating General Prosecutor for the Misiones District, Governor Hugo Passalacqua emphasized the importance of strengthening federal justice and security. He noted that because 90% of the province's borders are international, the region requires specific attention from national authorities to manage the unique challenges of a border zone.
The ceremony was attended by Horacio Rosatti, President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. The new structure of the Public Prosecutor's Office will include offices in Posadas, Oberá, Eldorado, and Puerto Iguazú to streamline judicial services and increase security for local citizens.
