Misiones bee attacks leave two men hospitalized
Two separate bee attacks in the Misiones province of Argentina have left two men hospitalized. In Oberá, a 41-year-old man, identified as Fabricio Adrián L., was attacked by a swarm near Club Olimpia. He was rushed to the Hospital SAMIC, where he remains intubated in the intensive care unit. Police and cybercrime specialists used his mobile phone to identify him and locate his partner after he was initially admitted without known identification.
A second incident occurred in Puerto Rico, where a 63-year-old driver suffered multiple stings while operating a vehicle. The attack caused him to lose control of his car and collide with a 58-year-old cyclist. The driver was hospitalized in Puerto Rico following the incident.
Medical specialist Dr. Roberto Stetson noted that bee venom contains highly harmful substances, such as phospholipase A, which can trigger severe allergic reactions or toxic intoxication depending on the number of stings received.
