Misiones deputies reject new toll station on Route 12

National deputies from Misiones, representing the Argentina Federal bloc, have formally rejected the installation of a third toll station on National Route 12. The proposed station is planned for the area near the municipality of Puerto Rico in the Libertador General San Martín department.

The project of declaration, authored by Deputy Yamila Ruiz and supported by Oscar Herrera Ahuad, Alberto Arrúa, and Daniel Vancsik, seeks to express formal concern regarding the additional financial burden this would impose on workers, students, merchants, and producers.

This legislative move follows opposition from local mayors in Puerto Rico, Garuhapé, and Capioví, who argue that Route 12 is a vital artery for connectivity, production, and development in Northeast Argentina. The local leaders contend that the extra cost would negatively impact daily essential activities, including commerce, education, and access to healthcare.
