Misiones extends Ahora Pan program with frozen bread prices

The Misiones provincial government has extended the ‘Ahora Pan’ program until October 15, 2026, maintaining a frozen price of 3,000 pesos per kilogram for French bread and similar products. This agreement was reached through dialogue between the Ministry of Finance and the Centro de Industriales Panaderos.

Despite a reported 15% monthly increase in flour costs, industry leaders and government officials agreed to the extension to provide relief to families facing inflationary pressures. Omar Acosta, president of the bakery industry chamber, noted that while the profit margins are minimal, the agreement is a shared effort to ensure price stability. The program aims to keep bread prices significantly lower than in other provinces, where costs can reach up to 5,000 pesos per kilogram.
