Misiones politicians reorganize provincial and national blocs
Political restructuring is underway in Misiones and within the Argentine National Chamber of Deputies. In Misiones, legislator Ramón Amarilla has set conditions for potential cooperation with the Radical Civic Union (UCR). Amarilla expressed a desire to lead a provincial formula but warned party leadership against abandoning him for political maneuvers, stating, “Don’t lead me to the precipice and then let me go.”
Simultaneously, Hugo Passalacqua is spearheading a reorganization that extends to the National Chamber of Deputies. Four Misiones legislators—Oscar Herrera Ahuad, Alberto Arrúa, Yamila Ruiz, and Daniel Vancsik—are leaving the ‘Innovación Federal’ bloc to form a new parliamentary group alongside three representatives from Salta. The bloc will be presided over by former governor Herrera Ahuad.
The new parliamentary group aims to strengthen provincial negotiation power regarding taxes, infrastructure, energy, and regional economies. There are ongoing efforts to incorporate additional deputies from Formosa and San Luis, which could expand the bloc to approximately ten members.
