Misiones reallocates 313 million pesos to support low-season tourism
The Government of Misiones has decided to reallocate 313 million pesos, originally intended for the International Tourism Fair (FIT) in Buenos Aires, to the Anti-Cyclical Tourism Demand Fund. This measure aims to support the tourism sector during the low season, specifically during the months of September and October when occupancy rates typically drop.
While the province will still participate in the FIT to maintain its international and national positioning, the redistribution seeks to provide direct economic support to local businesses. The fund will follow a specific hierarchy of priority: first targeting small accommodations, lodges, rural tourism, and inland enterprises; second, 3 and 4-star hotels; and finally, premium hotels.
The decision is intended to stabilize the local economy and protect jobs in a sector that is vital to the province's economic activity.
