Misiones reduces Gross Income tax for 40,000 professionals
The government of Misiones has reached an agreement with the Federation of Professional Colleges and Councils (Feccopromi) to reduce the Gross Income tax rate (Ingresos Brutos) for registered professionals. The rate will be lowered from 5% to a direct 3.5% rate.
This measure, established via Resolution 1009 signed by Minister Adolfo Safrán, converts a previous 30% exceptional bonus into a permanent direct rate. The change is expected to apply to approximately 40,000 professionals, including lawyers, doctors, engineers, architects, and various other specialized service providers. The new rate is scheduled to take effect with the October 2026 advance.
Feccopromi President Juan Manuel Fouce noted that the reduction follows three years of advocacy. He highlighted that independent professionals face unique financial burdens, such as lacking social security, paid leave, or employer-provided insurance, and that the tax is particularly heavy because it is applied to total gross income rather than net profit after business expenses.
