Misiones suspends water canon for cassava producers

The Governor of Misiones, Hugo Passalacqua, has ordered a 15-month suspension of the water use canon for the cassava sector. The agreement, signed in Puerto Rico, involves Aguas Misioneras Sociedad del Estado (AMSE) and the Cámara Empresarial Clúster de la Mandioca Misionera.

The suspension will apply from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027. This measure is intended to provide time for the state company to propose a new law to the provincial legislature that reformulates current regulations to better benefit small and medium-sized enterprises.

Participation in this benefit is not automatic. Companies and cooperatives must sign a ‘Declaración de Adhesión y Compromiso’ (Declaration of Adhesion and Commitment) to comply with specific environmental conditions and requirements.
