Mislata City Council criticized for failing to plant 8,000 trees

The Plataforma Ecologista CV has raised concerns regarding the Mislata City Council's failure to fulfill a plenary agreement to plant 8,000 trees. The motion, originally proposed by the Compromís party to mitigate the effects of climate change and heatwaves, has reportedly seen almost no implementation despite several years having passed.

The local government, led by Mayor Carlos Fernández Bielsa, includes the Socialist Party (PSOE), which voted in favor of the measure. Critics point out that Mislata suffers from high urban density and a chronic deficit of green spaces, making the failure to act particularly impactful during recent periods of high temperatures in the Valencia region.
