Misono Elementary School converted into logistics hub for Chinese Taipei delegation
The Chinese Taipei delegation has established a large-scale logistics relay station at the former Misono Elementary School in Nagoya, Japan, to support athletes during the Asian Games. The facility, which has been vacant since 2023 due to school consolidations, covers approximately 1,033 ping (roughly 3,400 square meters) and serves as a comprehensive one-stop service hub.
Sports Minister Li Yang inspected the site, noting that the space provides essential support for training, medical care, and nutrition. The station is staffed by a team of 42 logistics personnel and includes medical support from doctors to assist athletes. The facility aims to compensate for limited space in the official athletes' village by providing dedicated areas for weight training, physical therapy, and specialized training.
Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture is collaborating to provide 29 types of food ingredients and processed goods to ensure athletes receive nutritious meals with familiar flavors. The relay station in Nagoya, along with another in Toyohashi and a satellite station in Tokyo, forms a critical support network for the delegation through the conclusion of the Asian Para Games in late October.
