Miss Dominican Republic Universe pageant highlights autism inclusion initiative

The Miss República Dominicana Universo organization marked its 70th anniversary with a forum titled “Conocer, Comprender e Incluir: La Corona Brilla por el Autismo.” Held in the Atrio Central of Ágora Mall in Santo Domingo, the event aimed to break barriers and promote understanding of autism, encouraging society to include neurodivergent individuals. Director Magali Febles emphasized the project’s four‑year growth, while leaders such as activist Wendy Queliz, former titleholder Eva Arias, current Miss República Dominicana Universo Jennifer Ventura, and journalist Caroline Aquino participated.

Among the contestants, international model Jailene Hernández from La Vega announced her bid for the Miss Universe República Dominicana 2026 crown. Hernández, a certified Pilates instructor and accountant, has worked with artists like Karol G and founded the Sentidos Vivos program, which uses Pilates, music therapy and sensory activities to support children with autism in the Dominican Republic. She highlighted the responsibility of a beauty queen to inspire change and support inclusive causes.
