Miss Earth Belize 2026 launches, spotlighting environmental advocacy

The Miss Earth Belize 2026 pageant week began with the introduction of four delegates, each promoting a distinct environmental cause: Gwendolyn Galvez’s eco‑culture movement, biologist Vashti Thompson’s community‑driven conservation, Heavenly Bradley’s reuse campaign, and Kendall Morgan’s focus on protecting the Belize River and heritage. The launch, supported by sponsors such as Madisco, Belize Water Services Limited, the Department of the Environment and the Protected Areas Conservation Trust, also featured a city‑wide cleanup to reduce single‑use plastics.

Finance Director Wendy Castillo emphasized that the competition is an “international platform that empowers women to use their voices and influence to protect our planet.” The crowned winner on August 8 at the Belize City Civic Center will represent Belize at the global Miss Earth contest, aiming to reclaim the title last won by Belize in 2021. Reigning Miss Earth Belize Paris Cawich reflected on her year of advocacy, while the event’s theme, “Beauty with Purpose, Action for Earth,” underscores the pageant’s focus on leadership, sustainability and environmental education.
