Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2026 judges meet contestants

Judges for the Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2026 met with contestants in Tsim Sha Tsui on August 24 ahead of the finals scheduled for August 30. The judging panel for the ‘Miss Photogenic’ award includes Chan Mei-ling, Gau Wan-wai, Ng Wan-lung, and Roger Tse.

During the press conference, the judges shared their specific criteria for the competition. Roger Tse emphasized the importance of seeing contestants in person rather than relying on filtered photos, noting that facial symmetry and body lines are crucial. Ng Wan-lung highlighted the importance of confidence, while Gau Wan-wai stated she prioritizes a beautiful smile, though she noted that there can be a difference in feel between a contestant's photos and their live appearance.

Chan Mei-ling remarked that the ‘Miss Photogenic’ title is less about height or academic background and more about ‘audience appeal’ and a presence that makes viewers want to keep watching. She indicated she already has a preferred candidate among the 12 contestants but will keep her choice secret.
